ERUMC is an inter-generational congregation with a call to to heal a broken world by providing an welcoming environment with a safe sanctuary, faith formation and programs for all ages, and supporting community organizations and missions at home and abroad. We look forward to your visit!
Your First Visit
Worship: Worship is at 8:30 am or 10:30 am. Fellowship, Parent Conversations and Sunday School are at 9:30 am. The early service has a traditional feel with hymns, organ music, and choir. The late service is a favorite for families with a praise team leading music and is informal.
Parking: ERUMC has an ample parking lot with access from both Main St and 4th St. Enter the building from the double doors near the parking lot or for those with special needs, follow the ramp. If you have entered the building via ramp you'll see the sanctuary doors with smiling faces waiting to greet you. Entering the doors from nearest the parking lot will lead you to the fellowship hall. Walk up the stairs (a coat rack is located on your left) and straight to the other side to find the sanctuary. **Caution** At this point in time, you may have many people smiling at you, saying good morning, and/or offering to shake your hand and introduce themselves.
Children: Children are welcome to remain with you during worship or we have a nursery available for young ones. An usher can show you the way to our childcare area located on the lower level. ERUMC love's children. A cry, whine, or laugh won't bother us a bit! It's all apart of the experience. Activity bags, books and 'busy toys' are located at the back of the sanctuary. **Caution, children making a cute comment or singing loudly or moving to the music may result in more smiles an occasional "Awwww" from those sitting near you. A changing table is located in the lower level near the Nursery or in the large stall in the restrooms.
After the Service: Following the service we invite you to stop at the welcome desk, just outside the doors of the sanctuary. Here, you will have an additional opportunity to ask questions or get information. **Caution: at this point in time you may be 'mugged.' as you take home a free gift (typically a mug) as a token of our appreciation. Refreshments and conversation occur following worship in Fellowship Hall, just up the steps from the Sanctuary; we hope you’ll join us so that we can know you better. In this area we have a children's table available and a train table for those that want to play. At 9:30, you are welcome to join in any Bible studies or bring children to Sunday School. Click here for more information about our Sunday School program.
What should I wear? At ERUMC folks dress as they are most comfortable which means you will see some people dressed in their 'Sunday Best' and others in jeans or shorts.
Restrooms: The restrooms are located in the hallway on the far side of the Fellowship Hall. Choose any of the 3 doors from the Fellowship Hall and you will see both a men's and women's restroom to your right of your left (depending on which door you use).
Communion: The sacrament of Communion is celebrated on the 1st Sunday of each month. In the Methodist Church, we practice an open table, which means all who believe in Christ are welcome to partake. Regular and gluten free wafers are available. Grape juice is used in place of wine and distributed in individual cups.
Other helpful information: Large print bulletins and hymnals are available for those who may need them. As a guest, you are welcome to give during our time of offering; but please do not feel obligated; we are happy to have you as our guest.
God’s peace to you and we pray that your spirit will be enriched by your visit!
