The rich history of bread ovens date back to 1800's Europe where bread ovens were the centerpiece of a village. During the week, the oven would be fired up and people would bring their bread dough to be baked. While soaking in the sweet aroma of fresh baked bread, the villagers would chat with each other. The bread was for the body and the community conversation was for the soul.
At ERUMC we are excited to launch a traditional style brick oven--with a new way of reaching each other and the community. This--weeks long--building project will need the love and care from you. Servants are needed to help build the oven--construction skills not required. A leader will be there to work alongside you. A sign-up has been created with shifts of 2-4 hours at a time to build this centerpiece of fellowship.
